Network

Network Overview

The Network tab contains settings to modify Gateway Network and Enterprise Administration connections. The Network tab also contains the Network Overview section, which displays various status metrics about your Gateway Network, such as the number of active connections and errored connections. Underneath these metrics is the Live Gateway Network Diagram, depicting the network architecture for all connected Gateways from the point of view of the current Gateway. For each connection, the diagram will display the connection incoming or outgoing direction with an arrow, the ping time, and the bytes per second.

There are three sections under the Overview option for further Gateway Network configuration:

Status

The top half of the Network Overview page displays aggregate metrics about the Gateway Network connections in your architecture. These metrics include:

  • Number of Active Connections
  • Number of Errored Connections
  • Number of Incoming Connections
  • Number of Outgoing Connections
  • Aggregate of Bytes Sent
  • Aggregate of Bytes Received

Gateway Network Diagram

The bottom half of the Network Overview page displays the Gateway Network Diagram. See the Gateway Network Diagram page for more details.

Network Settings

The Network Settings tab deals with setup and management of the Gateway Network.

PageDescription
Web ServerThe Web Server page is for various properties, such as configuring the HTTP and HTTPS ports, setting up the SSL/TLS certificate, and redirecting traffic through a known address. If you are allowing users to access your Gateway from outside your network (through the internet), you will need to configure the Public HTTP Address settings.

You can find out more about SSL in Secure Communication (SSL/TLS).
Email SettingsThe Email Settings section allows you to create an SMTP server connection in the Gateway that can be used by several different resources, such as Alarm Notification and Report Schedules.
Sync Services

A Sync Services section is also available under this tab when using Ignition Edge.

Gateway Network

The Gateway Network tab includes Settings and Connections pages. These pages allow access to the General Settings and Diagnostics tabs, along with visibility to outgoing and incoming connections, queue management, and proxy rules. Refer to the Gateway Network page for more information on these tabs and how to configure your network setup.

Enterprise

The Enterprise Administration tab controls the majority of EAM functions. Setting the Gateway to be a Controller, adding an Agent, and managing the various Agents from the Controller Gateway can all be done in this section.

This is also where Agent Tasks are created. The EAM Tasks section will only show up once the EAM module is configured. This page shows information regarding the currently running and scheduled tasks, as well as tasks that were recently executed and whether they were successful or not. From here you can pause a scheduled task, or see the error that caused a previous execution to fail.
