> Returns the currently active resource collection mode, or None if no mode is explicitly active.

This function is used in **Python Scripting**.

## Description 

Returns the current [deployment mode](platform\gateway\web-interface\platform\gateway-deployment-modes\gateway-deployment-modes.md#deployment-modes), or None if no mode is explicitly active.

## Client Permission Restrictions

This scripting function has no [Client Permission](ignition-modules\vision\vision-project-properties\vision-project-properties.md#vision-permissions-properties) restrictions.

## Syntax

`system.config.getActiveMode()`

**String** - The active collection, as a string.
