Project Browser Symbol Reference

This reference section provides tables showing the symbols used in Project Browser along with the symbol name and description.

Project Browser Icons

Miscellaneous

Symbol	Name	Description
	Alarming	Workspace for Alarm Notification Pipelines. Appears under the Global resources. The same icon is displayed next to the name of each pipeline.
	Sequential Function Charts	Workspace for Sequential Function Charts (SFC). Same icon is displayed next to the name of each SFC.
	Properties	Opens the Project Properties Editor dialog box.

Scripting

Symbol	Name	Description
	Project Library	Workspace for the Project Library.
	Script	Icon for an individual script. Appears next to the name of the script.
	Gateway Events	Scripts for events that execute on the Gateway.

Additional symbols (Badge icons) can show up to the right of these items. See the Perspective Designer Interface page for an explanation.

Symbol	Name	Description
	Gateway Events	Scripts for events that execute on the Gateway.
	Session Events	Scripts for events that occur during a Perspective Session.
	Styles	Styles folder within Perspective.
	Views	Views folder within Perspective.
	View	Icon for an individual View. Appears next to the name of the View.
	Edit View	Edits a View within Perspective.

Transaction Groups

Symbol	Name	Description
	Standard Group	Icon for a block Standard Group.
	Standard Group - Disabled	Indicates that capability to create Standard Groups is disabled.
	Block Group	Icon for a Block Transaction Group.
	Block Group - Disabled	Indicates that capability to create Block Groups is disabled.
	Historical Group	Icon for a Historical Group.
	Historical Group - Disabled	Indicates that capability to create Historical Groups is disabled.
	Stored Procedure Group	Icon for a block Stored Procedure Group.
	Stored Procedure Group - Disabled	Indicates that capability to create Stored Procedure Groups is disabled.

Symbol	Name	Description
	Client Events	Scripts for events that execute in Vision Clients.
	Windows	Folder for Main, Popup, and Docked windows within the Vision module.
	Window	Icon for selecting the Main window option when creating a new view. Appears next to the window name. Also used for Popup and Docked windows after they are created.
	Window - Editing	Indicates that this window is currently open for editing.
	Popup Window	Icon for selecting the Popup window option when creating a new view.
	Docked Window	Icon for selecting the Docked window option when creating a new view.
	Templates	Icon for the Template folder.
	Vision Template File	Icon for individual Vision Templates.
	Vision Templates - Editing	Indicates that this template is currently open for editing.

Event Streams

Symbol	Name	Description
	Event Stream	Icon for individual event streams.

Named Queries

Symbol	Name	Description
	New Query	Create new Named Query.
	Named Query - Disabled	Indicates that access to Global resources is disabled.
	Named Query - Editing	Icon for an individual Named Query. Clicking opens the Named Query for editing.

Reports

Symbol	Name	Description
	New Report...	Create a new Report.
	Report - Disabled	Indicates that capability to create a Report is disabled.
	Report - Editing	Icon for an individual report. Clicking opens the report for editing.

Right-Click Menu

General

The symbols and options in this section are used for almost all resources in the Project Browser. See the following sections for resource-specific context menu options.

Symbol	Name	Description
	Rename	Renames the current selection.
	Cut	Cuts the current selection into the clipboard.
	Copy	Copies the current selection into the clipboard.
	Copy Path	Copies the current path into the clipboard.
	Paste	Pastes the content in the clipboard into the selected context.
	Delete	Deletes the current selection.
	Revert Changes	Reverts any changes made to the resource. Only available if the project has not yet been saved.
	Export...	Export the selected resource(s) to a project backup file.
	Protect	Locks the individual project resource from inside the Designer.
	Documentation	Allows users to add custom documentation to the selected resource.
	Find/Replace...	Opens a popup window to allow users to find and replace specified resources. This option is available for the following resources: Perspective Views Transaction Groups Vision Windows Vision Templates Named Queries

Sequential Function Charts (SFC)

Symbol	Name	Description
	Export (XML)	Export the SFC as XML.
	Import (XML)	Import an SFC as XML.

Scripting

Symbol	Name	Description
	Close & Commit	Close and commit changes to the Designer's local copy of the project. Available for individual scripts.
	Close & Revert	Close and discard all local changes. Reverts the script to what it was when the project was last opened or updated. Available for individual scripts.

Perspective

Symbol	Name	Description
No Symbol	New Style	Creates a new style class.
	New Folder	Creates a new folder for the selected resource. Available for both styles and views.
	Enable Advanced Style Sheet	Adds a CSS style sheet to your project.
	New View	Creates a new view.

Transaction Groups

Symbol	Name	Description
	New Folder	Creates a new folder.
	New Transaction Group	Creates a new Transaction Group. You can create historical, block, standard, and stored procedure groups.
	New Item	Adds a new item to the selected Transaction Group. You can add OPC items, expression items, and tag references.
	Toggle Pause	Pauses the currently selected and enabled Transaction Group. You can click this option again to unpause the Transaction Group.
	Import	Imports Transaction Group data.

Vision

Symbol	Name	Description
	Open on Startup	If checked, the selected window will open when the Client starts up.
	"About" Window	If checked, this window will be accessible through the Help > About This Application menu in the Client.
	Scripting...	Allows users to configure scripts for the selected component, such as event handlers.
	Security	Shows security settings for the selected component.
	Duplicate	Creates a copy of the selected view or template.
