> Checks to see if the current timezone is using daylight savings time during the date specified.

This scripting function has no [Client Permission](ignition-modules\vision\vision-project-properties\vision-project-properties.md#vision-permissions-properties) restrictions.

## Syntax

`system.date.isDaylightTime([date])`

### Parameters
Type | Parameter | Description 
------- | ------- | ------
Date | `date` | The date you want to check if the current timezone is observing daylight savings time. Uses now() if omitted. [optional]

### Returns
**Boolean** - True if date is observing daylight savings time in the current timezone; false otherwise.
