# qualityOf

> Returns the QualityCode of a qualified value.

**This function is used by Ignition's Expression language.**

## Description
Returns the [QualityCode](platform/tags/quality-codes-and-overlays/quality-codes-and-overlays.md) of a qualified value.

## Syntax
`qualityOf(value)`

### Parameters

| Type | Parameter | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Object | `value` | The value for which you want to find the quality. |

### Results
**QualityCode** - Returns the code associated with the quality. For more information on quality codes, including a list of available codes, see [Quality Codes and Overlays](platform/tags/quality-codes-and-overlays/quality-codes-and-overlays.md).

## Examples

qualityOf({[default]Sensor 1/Reading}) //Returns the quality code of the tag's value
