# system.date.getDate

> Creates a new Date object given a year, month and a day.

This function is used in **Python Scripting**.

## Description
Creates a new Date object given a year, month and a day. The time will be set to midnight of that day.

## Client Permission Restrictions
This scripting function has no [Client Permission](projects\project-properties\project-properties.md#client---permissions) restrictions.

## Syntax
`system.date.getDate(year, month, day)`

### Parameters
Type | Parameter | Description 
------- | ------- | ------
Int | `year` | The year for the new date.
Int | `month`| The month of the new date. January is month 0.
Int | `day`  |The day of the month for the new date. The first day of the month is day 1.

### Returns
**Date** - A new date, set to midnight of that day.
