# pow

> Returns a number raised to a power.

**This function is used by Ignition's Expression language.**

## Description
## Syntax
`pow(number, power)`

- Parameters

    - int/float **number** - The number to raise to the provided power.

    - int/float **power** - The power value to raise the number value to.

- Results
    - int/float - The result of the number provided raised to the power provided.

## Examples

pow(2,3) //returns 8
```
